October 21st, 2008 · No Comments

While Botox is best known for its ability to minimize the appearance of wrinkles, a new study shows that it may be able to help women who have foot problems from years of wearing high heels.

The anti-wrinkle botulinum toxic injections are used to treat the condition known as “stilettotarsal.” The condition is caused by years of walking in high heels. The condition is identified by soft tissue on the ball of the foot. This area is known as the metatarsal area. The new applicaion of Botox offers a ray of hope for fashionistas who do not want to abandon their heels, despite the crippling pain.

The popular wrinkle fighter is used to firm up the soft tissues damaged by the heels. It is currently in the clinical test phase.
