‘Bro-tox’ becoming a popular gift option for men

January 16th, 2012 · No Comments

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons found that in 2011 there were more than 300,000 men who chose to get Botox in the United States. According to researchers, this number is 10 percent higher than in the previous year.

More and more men are turning towards Botox treatments to reduce the signs of aging. This popular procedure has become a common gift for men. Botox is now being called ‘Bro-tox’ in some instances due to it’s large presence among males.

Men are receiving Botox treatments to not only reduce the appearance of wrinkles but to also soften up their faces. When males age, their wrinkles can cause them to look angry and upset and with the help of Botox, those wrinkles could be gone for good.

Many options to treat acne in teens

January 5th, 2012 · No Comments

Acne is very common in teenagers between the ages of 14 and 18. This skin condition can greatly affect a person’s confidence. There are several options when it comes to treating acne in teen patients. Two things that have actually been known to make acne worse are constantly washing your face and applying force when doing so.

Washing the face twice a day with a face wash containing SPF and salicylic acid is recommended. A light moisturizer should be used after your face is clean, if you skip the moisturizer your skin may assume it is dry and begin to produce more oil. Changing the pillowcase on which you sleep each night is also beneficial in keeping your skin clean.

Medication is always an option to consider as well. Most prescription medication contains benzoyl peroxide, which helps eliminate trouble areas by acting as an antibacterial agent. Other medications are also helpful if they are tailored to your specific skin type.

If you suffer from acne and are interested in learning about different treatment options, please contact the Houston acne treatment specialists at Dermagenix by calling 713-662-3376 today.
